Things aren't quiet where we want them. We decided to go ahead and finish most of the home repairs we were in the middle of while Angela's parents came to visit and as we expected it used up most of our savings.

We've also had to make further dietary changes (now for the whole family) so there has been an unexpected increase in grocery expenses. But I think this month we'll get a handle on things and start building that savings back up. It was hard to see that money get used up but the house is now mostly done and everyone's stress levels are back to normal.

I am grateful that we've actually stayed under budget for Christmas gifts and have the gas budgeted for our trip to visit family. I also budgeted extra for food this month so that we can purchase whatever is needed when we get to Houston. The last few months we've started budgeting for children's needs and adult needs. Not much goes in there, about $15 a month, but it covers periodic things like socks or an extra shirt here or there.

I'm so grateful to have been apart of the Earn or Burn 2010 challenge and for the extra jump it gave us in getting debt paid off as well as managing our finances better!
